A Clean Slate for Tour-Level Precision
Some builds start with subtle tweaks. This wasn’t one of them. The Special Select Newport came in for a full transformation — a request for tour-inspired precision and a minimalist aesthetic that feels both modern and timeless.
The player wanted everything stripped back: no cluttered branding, no unnecessary stamping, just pure lines and purposeful detail. The result is a putter that feels reborn — sharper, cleaner, and filled with bold pops of custom red.
The Mods - build yours here
Pure Face Stamp Delete + Heel Dot
All branding was welded and refinished, leaving behind a smooth, pure face. Into that clean surface, we milled a precise heel dot – filled in candy red – giving the putter a subtle visual anchor without interrupting the feedback.
Smooth Sole Stamp Delete
The “Special Select” sole engravings were welded in and refinished to a seamless surface. From the bottom up, this Newport looks like it was always meant to be this clean.
Cosmetic Weld Around the Neck
Subtle weld detailing was added and then refinished in Tour Blast, giving the neck a sharper, more tour-style aesthetic.
Mini Alignment Dot
A shallow-milled top-dot was added and filled in gloss black. Paired with the flange line, it creates dual alignment feedback – helping players track if the putter is sitting toe-up, toe-down, or perfectly square.
1.5mm Bumper Stamping
Custom initials were hand-stamped into the bumpers in crisp 1.5mm font, giving the build a personalized, tour-level touch. Then filled with gloss black.
Custom-Mixed Candy Red Paints
The finishing statement: a custom-blended candy red paint, hand-applied to the cavity dots, heel dot, and sole weights. Mixed in-house for this build, it adds a glossy, gem-like vibrancy that makes the putter pop without overpowering the clean Tour Blast finish.
Why Tour Players Prefer the Pure Face
The smooth, “pure” face is one of the most requested tour-level mods we do – and for good reason.
Most production putters come with heavy milling patterns across the face. While those grooves can soften feel and reduce skid, they also mute feedback. For elite players, that’s a problem. They don’t just want to know if they hit the center – they want to know exactly how flush the strike was, how the ball came off, and what micro-adjustments they need to make.
The pure face removes that barrier:
Maximum Feedback: Without milling absorbing vibration, the player feels every nuance of strike directly through the hands.
Consistent Energy Transfer: A smooth face delivers more energy into the ball, leading to a truer roll and a more predictable pace across varying green speeds.
Elite Calibration: Practicing with a pure face allows a player to fine-tune their stroke at a microscopic level.
Tour-Level Precision: Less forgiving – but that’s why pros love it. It forces exactness and rewards precision.
This isn’t a beginner-friendly mod – it’s for players who want it raw, who crave the kind of immediate response that helps them dial in to a tour-level standard of putting.

Candy Red Confidence
This putter’s defining character comes from its custom-mixed candy red fills.
Weights: oversized 40g weights refinished and filled with rich candy red
Cavity dots: triple-dot cavity polished to a bright grain, then hand-filled in candy red
Face milled dot: a pooled deep dot was milled into the face to give depth to the candy red
The custom paint mix gives the red a unique depth – glossy, translucent, and luminous under light – elevating the whole aesthetic.
The Finish
Everything is wrapped in an anti-glare Tour Blast finish with brushed highlights. The effect is pure utility: no glare on the greens, clean geometry from every angle, and a confidence-inspiring frame behind the ball.
The Result
What began as a standard Special Select Newport is now a tour-inspired stunner – a build that strips away distractions and adds back only what matters: clarity, precision, and personality.
This putter doesn’t just look different; it feels different. Every weld, every refinished surface, and every candy red accent works together to create a build that’s both collectible and gamer-ready.
